Week 1 – My first impressions

Thursday, December 12th

This was my second volunteer day, and I was very surprised to see a goat when I entered the room. The goat did’t want to walk, so we put him in a wheelchair and went around the resident’s room. They looked very happy to see it. I did’t know what to do. To be honest, is was a little boring.

Week- A fun activity with clients

I like these activities where we played bocce with residents and pushed a candy cart to sell sweets to them. Bocce come from Italy. I enjoyed playing it together. And when I went around centre, Itaro

Learning on the job

When I started this volunteer at first, I thought I have no time to talk to residents. So, I felt boring. However, my mind was changing. I was looking forward to going there because I enjoyed talking to many residents. Some people remembered us. And I learned that even if words cannot be conveyed, we can connect with each other with your hurts and smiles. They gave me a lot of love. I love them very much. Moreover, we had a positive impact on them, and we also received strength and energy from them. It was a very valuable experience.💚

😭😭

This was a final day of volunteering at this centre. We miss them very much.

I’ll introduce the lyric.

For me, I think this world’s universal language of humans is not English whatsoever but a simple and pure laugh.

Whether you are a mature adult or an immature child, even whether you consider yourself a man or woman, let me ask you if your life is filled with so much happiness?

Can you proudly say that you’re happy at this very moment?

That’s all that matters in our world so cruel and unjust.

And that is all that matters to me, who sings this song next to your side.
